What the assistant does with your mail

Connecting mail is optional. If you do, this is how it works, and not otherwise.

What it reads

Of each message it sees the sender, the subject, the date and a short preview. From those it works out who is waiting on you, who you are waiting on, what is a newsletter or automatic, and which deadlines are coming (an invoice, a renewal, a registration). It reads the full text of a message only when one task needs it, say to pull a date and an amount from an invoice, and that text is not kept.

What you notice

  • In your morning briefing: who expects an answer from you, and which deadlines fall within a week.
  • A few times a day at most, an overview of new things that need you, with a ✓ (done) and ✕ (ignore) per thread. Something truly urgent comes at once.
  • On request, a draft reply. It goes into your own Drafts folder; you read it and send it yourself.

What it can never do

Send. With Microsoft 365 we simply do not ask for the right to send, so it does not exist. With Gmail through an app password our software has no path at all that sends mail. It does not delete, label, set filters or forwarding either.

What it keeps

  • Per thread: whether it needs you, waits on someone else or is done, with a one-line summary. Ninety days.
  • Deadlines and open items from mail, until a day after the date.

All of it is on your page under Mail and Memory. Switch the integration off and reading stops at once; disconnect it and the access is revoked and this data deleted.

Off and on

In Telegram: /mail off and /mail on. On your page: the switch on Mail under Integrations.
